We pound steamed glutinous rice (mochigome) in a large mortar (Usu) with a mallet (Kine) to make mochi sometime around the new year. Fresh Mochi is so delicious and precious! You should come and try it! Also you can make SHIMENAWA and KADOMATSU, traditional Japanese New Year decorations.

- 8th October, SundayEbina*Kids friendly* Katsudon is a popular dish throughout Japan and one of the country’s signature comfort foods. It’s a pork cutlet bowl, where a deep-fried pork cutlet is combined with eggs and onions, then put on top of the rice. At this event, you can not only enjoy Katsudon but also have the opportunity to prepare a light miso soup that pairs perfectly with it.
